Desks without drawers in Leskovac administration

On Monday, 27 May 2013 a press conference to announce the completion of the first phase of regulatory reform in Leskovac was held. The conference was attended by various, both local and national media. At the beginning of the press conference, Mayor Goran Cvetanovic shortly presented the Project and activities done so far to journalists. Mr. Cvetanovic said that through this project, the local government wants working desks without drawers thus making City employees issuing a document to the citizens with all required documentation in one day, instead of cases disposed in the drawers for several months, what used to happen so, for various reasons.
The first phase was finalized with the list of 210 inventoried administrative procedures, which are implemented by the local administration of the City of Leskovac at the request of the citizens and the businesses. Mr. Predrag Cvetkovic, OPTIMUS representative, emphasized that through using of Standard Cost Model, costs of procedures thus savings achieved for businesses of the City of Leskovac through the reform will be determined.
In addition, Cvetkovic said that the project is funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and that the City of Leskovac has provided staff and technical requirements for the implementation of activities.
As Mayor Cvetanovic highlighted, the current local government aims to create an efficient, mobile and cost-effective City administration. City Councilor, Mr. Bozidar Vuckovic, said that through the implementation of the project, the City will determine where a surplus is, and where a deficit of public employees.
In the next phase, which begins in the first half of June, citizens and entrepreneurs will be invited to present their proposals for the solution of problems faced with the City administration.
